Middlesex University London was founded as St Katherine’s College in 1878 as a female teacher training institution in Tottenham, London. Since that time, the institution has had a long and illustrious history. The college increased its services over time and underwent several name changes, becoming Middlesex Polytechnic in 1973 and then Middlesex University in 1992 after being granted university status.
