Therefore, Sheffield Hallam University has strong relationships with top companies that open the door to a wide range of placements and internships every year. The university is an innovative learning place that provides flexible undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, including health and social care courses, sports and physical activity courses, and teacher training.

Over here, the expert lecturers provide practical and up-to-date research activities that inspire students. Most importantly, a full 96% of employability has been found during the study period and further study 15 months after the completion of graduation. Meanwhile, 73% of highly skilled career opportunities have arisen.

Above all, the university has global connections with over 100 universities across the world. Students can study or volunteer in Malaysia, Australia, Canada, India, China, Europe, or the USA without leaving Sheffield to broaden their horizons.

History

The origin of the university was found in 1843, when the industrial revolution took place. At that time, the Sheffield School of Design was converted to the Sheffield School of Art (1850).

In 1905, it was renamed Sheffield City College of Education when the first 90 students were admitted. In 1969, it became Sheffield Polytechnic and was again converted to Sheffield City Polytechnic (1976).

In 1992, this institute got university status and became Sheffield Hallam University (SHU). The city campus is established in the heart of the city, close to the Sheffield Railway Station. Another campus is the collegiate campus, which is situated in south-west Sheffield.

Location

Aberystwyth University’s primary campus is located atop Penglais Hill, providing a scenic view of the town of Aberystwyth and Cardigan Bay. The Penglais Campus houses the majority of the university’s 19 academic areas and the student halls of residence.

The old Aberystwyth University building, referred to as “Old College”, is presently undergoing substantial redevelopment in order to convert it into a prominent hub for education, heritage, culture, and business.

Aberystwyth is situated in a picturesque location, enveloped by the scenic landscape of the Cambrian Mountains and Cardigan Bay. The town’s beaches provide many options for both rest and amusement.

The closest airports are located in Manchester and Birmingham. There is a direct train connection between Birmingham and Manchester, which takes only three hours. London Euston has a frequent train service that typically takes approximately five hours.
