The University of Bedfordshire has campuses in two big cities north of London: Luton and Bedford. This university has two main campuses, one in the centre of Luton and one on the edges of Bedford. Nursing and midwifery degrees are also offered at the university’s Butterfield Park campus on the edge of Luton and at the Buckinghamshire campus in Aylesbury. Putteridge Bury is a fifth campus that hosts the postgraduate business school.

History

The University of Bedfordshire was first established in 1882 as Bedford Training College for Teachers, which later became Bedford Physical Training College in 1903. It was in 1993 that it gained university status as the University of Luton. The University of Luton merged with De Montfort University’s Bedford campus in 2006 to establish the University of Bedfordshire.

Bedford, on the other hand, is a beautiful riverbank town located along a scenic section of the River Great Ouse and bounded by greenery.
