University of Liverpool

Overview

As the original “red brick” university, the University of Liverpool has a rich heritage dating back to 1881. The university is a founding member of the Russell Group of top 24 research-led institutions in the UK, and is affiliated with nine Nobel Laureates. Throughout the world, they have pioneering partnerships with universities. Seven of their subjects are ranked in the top 10 in the UK for world-leading and internationally excellent research, according to the latest Research Excellence Framework (REF).

Their MBA is ranked among the  top 100 MBA programs  in the world by The Economist’s Which MA list, and their MBA is accredited by AACSB, AMBA, and EQUIS. You will have an amazing, life-changing student experience at the University of Liverpool, located in the heart of the world-famous city of Liverpool. They rank among the top 200 universities in the world for excellence in teaching, learning, and research.

As one of the top 25 universities in the UK targeted by leading graduate employers (High Fliers 2020), it comes as no surprise that more than 75% of our graduates achieve a First or a 2:1. To enhance students’ success, they also offer supported entrance into the UK, as well as Careers & Employability advisors dedicated to international students.

Over 8,000 of their 27,000 students come from over 130 countries, including over 8,000 international students. Across their three faculties, we offer an extensive range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. They also offer a number of two-year master’s programmes that include an industrial placement year in the School of  Electrical Engineering and Electronics  and Computer Science. International students who self-finance may also apply for a range of scholarships offered by the University of Liverpool.

History

The campus, which enjoys accreditation with important professional bodies in the City and is located close to London’s financial district, will initially offer programs in psychology, public health, accounting, and architecture. With about 8,000 students pursuing University of Liverpool degrees globally, it is the largest provider of postgraduate degree courses in Europe that are 100% online.

The university wants to significantly increase the number of international academic programs available to students who may not be able to travel abroad in addition to increasing the number of students who study abroad. The university is dedicated to increasing student access to higher education and giving them a global perspective on the subject of their choice. There are currently close to 6,000 students studying at Liverpool from 128 different countries, demonstrating how well-liked the university is among international students.

The university is dedicated to giving every student in Liverpool access to a top-notch education. The University provides students with much more than just a top-notch degree; we are proud that they also have access to a thriving research environment, first-rate teaching resources, excellent career guidance, and a wide range of extracurricular activities. Because of the university’s emphasis on the world, its programs are supported by international research and offer students the chance to study abroad and pick up a new language as part of their curriculum.

91.3% of graduates from the University are employed or enrolled in further studies, according to UK’s Higher Education Statistics Agency. As a result of the University, Liverpool is able to attract a large pool of young professionals. Investing in the city was a key factor in JP Morgan Chase’s decision to establish the headquarters of its business arm, JP Morgan Chase.

New graduates will gain valuable work experience through paid internships worth £2.50 million. XJTLU also offers students the opportunity to work with Fortune 500 companies at Suzhou Industrial Park in China. Key aspects of the student experience continue to be invested in by the University. Over the next 10 years, the University will invest £600 million in teaching, research, and residential estate, including £250 million for high quality accommodation.

The University is renowned for its high-quality teaching and research, which has produced no less than eight Nobel Prize winners. In the fields of medicine, veterinary science, technology, science, engineering, social sciences, and the environment, the institute’s research collaborations extend worldwide.

The University’s academics achieved internationally excellent standards of significance and rigor in 38 of 43 units assessed by the UK government. 53% of Liverpool’s research staff earned four-star (world-leading) and three-star (internationally excellent) ratings in the assessment. Liverpool ranked second in the UK for Materials Science. 70 percent of the research in this area was rated 4 or 3 stars.

Location

There are many things on the University of Liverpool campus within walking distance to the main campus in Liverpool city center, including lecture halls, award-winning central teaching laboratories, newly renovated libraries, a new sports and fitness center, state-of-the-art accommodations, and all the amenities this city center has to offer.

Known for The Beatles, Liverpool and Everton Football Clubs, Liverpool has a global reputation as a city of sport, music, architecture, and culture to explore. This is why we were ranked third in Rough Guides’ top 10 destinations in the world for 2014.

A city of art and shopping that rivals any city in Europe, Liverpool is home to more museums, galleries, theatres, and listed buildings than any other UK city outside of London. With more than 250 city bars and clubs, it’s no wonder Liverpool was recently voted Britain’s best nightlife destination by Trip Advisor users.
